Top Ten Nanoparticle Drug Patents
Volume 5, Issue 1
Abstract:
One of the most promising applications of nanoparticles is targeted delivery of therapeutics. A variety of different research institutes and corporations are developing nanoparticles to deliver small molecules, nucleic acids, and proteins. Commercialization of these technologies will depend, in part, on the patent landscapes. In this issue, we highlight the Top Ten U.S. patents related to the use of nanoparticles to deliver therapeutics. We did not engage in a rigorous legal analysis of these patents, and nothing in the article should be construed as legal advice. The purpose of the article to identify ten patents likely to be important in nanomedicine.
