Abstract:
Cambridge Display Technology (“CDT”) recently filed an IPO registration statement that the nanotechnology community should watch carefully. CDT is commercializing advanced plastic conducting polymers for use in flat panel displays. In this article, Steven Rutt and Stephen Maebius argue the registration statement reveals the importance of patience, IP planning, and international outlook in commercializing nanotechnology. CDT has been developing its technology and IP strategy now for over a decade.
