Abstract:
Most nanotechnology companies trace at least part of their development to a university collaboration. Such collaborations can create challenges to securing clear title to a nanotechnology invention. The following sections will analyze the law of inventorship and patent ownership. The subsequent sections will summarize the patent ownership pitfalls that may befall nanotechnology companies that are based on university or government research and ways to avoid them.
