Abstract:
In a world affected daily by technological innovations and advances, emerging sciences, such as nanotechnology, are reshaping the status quo of markets, industries and economies. Just as computers, the Internet, and the Human Genome Project have impacted our lives, so too will the evolution of a new “nanoeconomy.” In this article, Thomais Liota and Vassilios Tzitzios explain how worldwide investments from public governments, venture capital and private equity firms, and large corporations have sparked a plethora of start-up companies and intellectual property rights. They conclude that nanotechnology’s impact on our daily life has only just begun.
