Abstract:
In the wake of the world’s demands for a new energy source, the idea of using hydrogen coupled with fuel cell technology has risen to the top as one of the most promising solutions. However, hydrogen fuel cells still have a long way to go before they can be used as the leading source of energy, and nanotechnology has been instrumental in pioneering many of the most promising discoveries so far. In this article, Donna Chang and Dennis Fernandez focus on recent research trends in nanotechnology and the fuel cell industry. Chang and Fernandez then focus on how companies hoping to achieve commercial success in this emerging industry need to build a strong intellectual property portfolio and discuss some of the tactics for doing so.
